I have been part of Poverty truth for a long time so this was maybe a different perspective to come from but I thought about the question, ‘what does the Poverty Truth Community feel like for you’.
Probably it maybe feels a bit like this for everybody I’m not sure but I’ve got a lot of water and green as well. It feels you’re kind of standing up for your rights all the time. I’ve got justice here but I’ve crossed in out with the washi tape and no justice just us at the top because, it’s been a very long time Poverty Truth’s been doing all this stuff. I feel somewhat jaded at this later stage in my advancing years perhaps, that things are not really any better than they were when we all started. So I tried to transmute the frustration so it doesn’t really look as aggravated as I really feel.
But actually, the thing about the water, it made me think about how resistance is something that’s actually really important when you’re trying to fight back against whatever injustice exists and your existence is resistance. It feels you’re supported and you can say what you need to say I feel like, but it’s been very difficult to get proper and lasting change across the board for everybody from the government or governments whichever one.
I actually chose the green because green is the colour of the heart chakra and so it feels like to me, if there was a colour that represented PTC, it might be green actually because that is the colour of love, of the heart.
