Short story: Cath

Hi, I have chosen a heart of stone and a coaster... they may take our lives but they will never take our freedom.
I have been with the PTC coming up 15 years. I was first introduced by Trisha of the PTC.
The PTC has taught me to stand up for myself and others.
At the meetings, there are all walks of life there. The one thing is respect for others.
What is said in that room stays in that room. Plenty of laughter, tears too.
Taking part in mentoring, going to the events in Holyrood, joining Nourish Scotland, speaking in a church in Westminster.
October the 17th is an important date for the PTC, where we all meet at George Square Glasgow, the one day our voices are heard. Hearing my then 10 year old grandson reading testimonies from around the world about poverty, without shame.
My highlight of my time with the PTC was being invited to Rome in the year of Mercy, being a practicing Catholic, having an Audience with the Pope, Martin Johnson at 3 a.m, sitting in the corridors of a Covent preparing the next days work.
Due to ill health this past year, I have stepped back from meetings and things, but plenty folk will tell you, my favourite saying is ‘there is always someone worse off”. Long may the PTC continue to thrive, to help others to gain their voices.
