I have chosen this purple wristband which was given out to everyone who came to the first ever event of the Poverty Truth Commission in Glasgow City Chambers in 2009.

 I'll never forget that event or pulling it all together. A group of individuals who were so unsure of what we were doing in the first place. Individuals who so quickly became a community, not speaking alone but speaking together and acting as one.

I'm not forget the creativity, the passion, the pain, nor the sheer joy. 

And I'll never forget how that phrase is stayed like a heartbeat throughout our work over the years: 

Nothing about us, without us, is for us.
